Lemvig Biogas Plant
Research Centre Foulum
The world’s largest experimental biogas complex
The delegates will get the chance to visit the world’s largest experimental biogas complex.
It was opened for visitors in the third quarter of 2007, and is situated at Research Centre Foulum.
The test plant is a full-scale research facility, handling slurry from livestock farming as well as other types of biomass such as maize, beet and grasses.
The plant is highly flexible, enabling individual components to be removed for testing. It produces 850,000 m3 methane gas annually, which corresponds to the electricity consumption of 800 family homes and heating for 200 houses.

known to humans?
