Visit Europe's first full-scale hydrogen powered passive house project

In many countries energy consumption for heating and domestic hot water causes around one third of national CO2 emissions.

The reduction of energy demand from buildings therefore plays an important role in efforts to control greenhouse gas emissions.

As a result of this, zero energy houses i.e. houses that are self-sufficient in energy production are becoming increasingly popular. A lot of interesting zero energy house projects can be found in the Green Belt Area. One of these is the H2COLLEGE project.

H2COLLEGE is the first full-scale hydrogen powered passive house project in Europe. H2COLLEGE consists of 66 youth residences that will be completed and ready for occupation by November 2008.

Additionally, a demonstration house for hydrogen and hydrogen technologies will also be build.

Visitors will get an on-site guided tour of the premises, and get a general introduction to Hydrogen and its potential.
